Volunteering at DjangoCon Europe 2026

DjangoCon Europe is a community-run, not-for-profit event powered by volunteers. Everything you see — from the website to the on-site conference — echoes the passion of Django and Python enthusiasts who came together to make it happen.

In 2026, as DjangoCon lands in Athens, we're inviting you to be part of the team that breathes life into it.

All help, in whatever shape or form, is deeply valued and appreciated!

Available roles

Volunteers shine like beacons, orchestrating the event and making everyone feel welcome. You can sign up for one or more shifts, whatever fits your schedule. Here are some of the roles available:

Registration desk

Check tickets and hand out badges
Greet attendees and answer general questions

Information desk

Help attendees find sessions, venues and facilities
Provide health, safety and accessibility information

Session chair

Introduce speakers and help with setup
Keep taltalks on schedule and manage Q&A sessions

Room manager

Ensure sessions start and end smoothly
Coordinate with speakers and the A/V team
Monitor attendance and room capacity

Social & Networking support

Help with ticket checks at social events
Lead small group activities

Setup / Teardown crew

Set up signage, move chairs and tables, organize spaces
Help tidy up and close the venue after the event

Welcoming team

Be the friendly first face attendees see!
Direct them to registration or info points
